ABSTRACT
Mining involves the extraction, processing, rehabilitation and often beneficiation of minerals from earthly as well as offshore geological deposits. The establishment, growth and sustainability of a mining operation provides for a classical application of programme management. The longevity of mining companies is dependent upon on the effective definition, delivery and closure of an extended programme.
