ABSTRACT

Seeking to find new ways of communication between rural, traditional Zimbabwe and urban, high-tech (Telkom) enterprise, Jimmy ‘Mukundi’ Shindi developed a uniquely integral design of a Village Learning Hub, piloted in Zimbabwe’s Domboshava and in Chinyika, the foundational and opening story of the Integral Green Zimbabwe storyline. Shindi is COO for Customer Services at Econet Services, one of Zimbabwe’s most innovative corporations, renowned for its active social engagement in society. By contributing to the transformation of his organisation and by linking its technology to rural communities such as Domboshava and Chinyika, the integral circle of Integral Green Zimbabwe is closed in that business reconnects to its original source, where it originally emerged from – the rural community.
