From Chinyika, as a community-based initiative, also with strong cultural, if not altogether integral, overtones, the Muda Community-Based Tourism (CBT), activated by corporate executive and now also social entrepreneur Kennedy Mukuruwambwa Mandevani, stands to benefit the community, the business sector represented by Tour Africa Travel, as well as Government, represented by the Zimbabwean Tourism Authority (ZTA) and the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe (NMMZ). Adopting a holistic and systemic approach, the involvement in a malperforming Zimbabwean economy, has led to an identification of a burning issue. This serves as the driving force behind the creation of social transformative solutions like the Muda CBT scheme translated into vernacular as Kushanya Mumamisha (Shona) and Ukwethekelela Umphakathi (Ndebele). The land reform and indigenisation programmes, analysed in the context of the recent outcome of the general elections, have created uncertainty which could in the absence of an aggressive demonstration of progressive policies from the authorities, dent the tourism recovery process.
