ABSTRACT
Each island landscape is perceived in relation to its nature, history, culture and society, as a result of inhabitants and developers using and shaping the land. Island landscapes embed a unique identity especially for the local residents but also for visitors. Island landscape identity studies are used to explore people’s attitudes in relation to natural and cultural values, heritage, changes and pressures on these landscapes.
