ABSTRACT
When he wrote, Lewis never used his two Christian names, Clive Staples. He disliked them, and always shortened them to “C.S.,” just as Gilbert Keith Chesterton was known only as “G.K.” Of all modern books, it was to Chesterton’s book The Everlasting Man that Lewis ascribed the greatest significance for his own development as a Christian apologist.
