ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book reflects on the seven powerful narratives from police officers that we have examined in relation to building resilience. There are several consistent messages that come from the narratives, and in closing we would like to say a few words about the things that stand out for us. One police commander and Ginger recently interviewed shared a story with her. He said he had responded with an officer to assist with an investigation of a domestic disturbance. The train is late, Jonathan feeling frustrated because he will be late for this important meeting, and he is not the only one, the train is packed with angry passengers. And it never ceases to amaze Jonathan, you know, how many really powerful and humbling stories police officers have to tell.
