ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the pilgrimage to a shrine of Hazrat Sahib, who is buried in Coventry, UK. It deals with construction of his charisma and how that is transformed in the next generation of Hijaz College. The emergence of the Sufi shrine in the UK demonstrates how the sacralization of space occurs through the devotional and ritual practices of the followers. The chapter focuses on these practices to show how through that Muslims imagine new ways of relating themselves with new spaces. The significance of this chapter is to look at the contribution of pilgrimage and the related devotional practices into the debates of Muslim integration.
