ABSTRACT
After World War II Finland was a very agrarian country with only 26 per cent of the population living in urban communities. After 1950 the country experienced a rapid urbanisation which has continued up to now. However, according to Eurostat, Finland is still today one of the least urbanised countries in the EU.
