ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the organizing of 'gender' and 'gender-consciousness' is based on the comprehensive consideration of different types of women's NGO. In China, women's NGOs have made remarkable developments and exerted an important influence on society. The chapter involves the question of the status of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), which was raised during the preparation of the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995.
