ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the question of how to organise humanisation, and how to humanise organisations, changing the current organisation principles of the economy is an integral and vital part of the process of humanisation. It first investigates a major fallacy in current views on the economy, which takes the market economy necessarily to be based on competition. The values of dialogue can and should be regulative for the economic domain. The chapter shows that this would make people's economy more consistent with the values of modernity, which found their expression with the motto of the French Revolution. The values of modernity are in fact a constitutive part of the interdependent values of dialogue. After that discussion, the chapter expounds upon an example of an international organisation of entrepreneurs that takes this mission of humanising the economy seriously. The humanisation of society is characterised by the institutional realisation of the principles of human dialogue.
