ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book discusses how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has helped different countries around the world to develop in terms of the triple bottom line social, economic and environment or, alternatively, in terms of the 3Ps People, Planet and Profit. It explores in the sense that its contributors, who are actively working in the field of CSR, have provided information on how CSR has contributed to their countries' focus on socio-economic development. The book explains the developmental aspect of CSR from a conceptual perspective and to provides empirical evidence of the impact of CSR delivery on stakeholders in different corners of the world. Stakeholders, including employees, customers, host communities, governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have diverse interests and expectations of CSR.
