This chapter provides an accessible insight in different perspectives on accessibility and ways in which accessibility can be improved. It introduces the issue of port accessibility. The different directions for assessing and improving accessibility are overall linked to a generic network representation. Accessibility of ports and networks is a major issue for maintaining an attractive and competitive position in international supply chains.
