ABSTRACT

It is well known that the dawn of the twenty-first century has led to profound re-thinking of the term ‘pluralism’, above all thanks to the work of Giovanni Sartori. Whether he is loved or fiercely criticized, his pamphlet Pluralism, Multiculturalism and Foreigners (Sartori 2000) has forced intellectuals to tackle a concept which in the second half of the twentieth century had enjoyed quite a solid framework of reference, at least for Italian legal experts.
