ABSTRACT
The extent to which Algeria and Palestine have been involved in the Arab Spring movement might be subject to discussion. Unlike other countries surveyed in this volume, these countries did not go through a revolutionary process during the Arab Spring, which was triggered in Tunisia in 2011. Although the political regimes in place have been challenged by an aspiration for change, expressed through social unrest and reform movements, this has not lead to a recent or current revising of constitutional texts. 1 These countries have experienced revolutions – or calls for political and social reform – and constitutional change in the past, but there are no current “constitutional transition” processes comparable to what is in progress in other countries involved in the Arab Spring.
