ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the methods used to obtain a sample of bisexual Christians, a community that has no official support networks. Bisexual Christians face discrimination and/or exclusion not only from the heterosexual and Christian communities but also the gay and lesbian communities. This is due in part to bisexuality's rejection of monosexuality. Bisexual Christians are ostracised from gay communities and like gay and lesbian people they are often excluded from religious communities. For some the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) was too focussed around gay Christians without room for bisexual individuals. Online resources were also used to their full potential and both secular and spiritual organisations were used such as: BiCon Live Journal, Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement (LGCM), Young Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement ((Y)LGCM ) and Bi Research JISC forum. It is clear that there are numerous LGBT or non-heterosexual Christian support networks the orientations of those attending such groups is unclear and could be a wasted venture.
