In this review chapter, my aim is twofold: to summarize the major findings and arguments in Chapters 9 to 11 and to provide readers with a new perspective on the issues discussed in these chapters. In order to provide a summary, I have reorganized each of the chapters according to common themes to facilitate comparisons. This way of discussing the chapters has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage has already been stated: ease of comparison. The disadvantage is the possibility of neglecting certain aspects of these qualitatively and historically different cases as a result of the imposition of a standardized scheme. By proceeding in this way, I realize that I am running this risk.
