ABSTRACT
This chapter establishes whether the depth can be found at the current time in the representations of Robert Burns on the Internet and, if not, how depth in cyberspace can be created and encouraged by those working in the field. It suggests considering the presence and reception of Robert Burns in cyberspace that is to move, strictly speaking, beyond the subject of transatlantic Burns, though as many of the in-depth sites on Burns originate in Britain and the Americas and involve the ongoing transatlantic collaboration. The chapter gestures toward the global culture in which Burns is now the most commonly transmitted and transformed by the virtue of new digital technologies. The World Wide Web has also made it possible for the individuals to transmit to all and sundry their personal responses to Burns responses that involve the performance or interpretation of Burns's work in cyberspace.
