ABSTRACT

The dynamic development of globalisation in societies causes significant transformations in the economy, culture and politics. It changes the way people think and behave and it contributes to more open and reflective ways of life and management, according to accepted values and ethical standards. The changes caused by economic, social, demographic and political processes mean that the activity of people and societies face new forms of risk, which are different from the risk they confronted in the past. Different categories of risk emerging widely as a result of human activity cause people and society to face new challenges and choices. The risk management strategy should involve the owners of rural tourism facilities and tourists taking out insurance against a possible loss or legal liability and, the strategy should include the introduction of safety precautions on agritourism farms and other rural tourism facilities.
