ABSTRACT
This chapter reports the results that came out of the application of the Territorial Integrated Evaluation (TIE) matrix. The analysis developed at the macro scale gathers the performances of each Valley Community (VC) in reference to the Provincial context. The territories of Trentino are endowed with a high variety of geomorphological areas alternating between mountain and valley areas. This is reflected in its history and culture as well as in the variety of local landscapes. The macro scale analysis and evaluation of the level of the initiatives that characterize the local contexts in Trentino demonstrated that local governance is not directly proportional to the solidity of the retail system or to the liveliness of the tourist system in the territories. In order to activate the prospective scenario, VC needs to provide for a strategy for the construction of a local system of resources.
