ABSTRACT

A good cultural landscape can favour creativity by generating new activities, jobs and revenues. This very common idea is usually backed by cultural tourism or the cultural attractiveness of the creative class. The relationship between cultural landscape and creativity is clarified: as far as cultural landscapes can integrate architecture, public art, arts centers that demonstrate how to produce new projects, cultural landscapes can be a lever for more creative cities. As far as cultural landscapes are concerned, the police define zoning laws for restricting the built-up area on an acre of land. The protection of cultural assets is affected by the pressures exerted by the environment on the quality of a monument. Whether the stakeholders want to invest in the conservation of a cultural landscape will depend on its initial quality. If this cultural landscape is in a poor condition, these actors are more than likely to neglect it, which will only accelerate its further deterioration.
