ABSTRACT
Within the field of music, it is not that uncommon that some people write the music – the composers – and completely different persons perform the music – the musicians. In contrast, to be successful in the academic world – you both have to write (the research) and to perform (to teach). The majority of teachers in the academic world do both. The research is often well organized with support in the form of courses, tutors and different types of seminars. Unfortunately there is less guidance for teaching.
