ABSTRACT

Italo-Greek hagiography is constituted by a corpus of about 40 texts. From the oldest Passions of the fifth century to the vitae of the thirteenth, we have a fixed number of texts, which will be the subject of the present chapter. 1 Analysing them will allow us to assess the development through the centuries of the topics and forms of hagiographic production in Greek concerning the saints living in Sicily and Southern Italy.
