ABSTRACT
Belief. It’s the word often appended to experiences scholars describe variously as paranormal, supernatural, super-natural, uncanny or metaphysical. Some experiences are described as ‘unbelievable’. People often remark that they ‘couldn’t believe it’. Others say they believe in ghosts, or God, or fairies at the bottom of the garden, or a host of other phenomena.
