ABSTRACT

In this queer (studies) age, lesbian studies emerges as the Curiously Strong Movement. The Unsinkable Molly Bolt. The little vagin that could. 1 We are supposed to be in a post-lesbian age; certainly post-structuralism deemed all identity-based movements and studies passé, if not actually mort, quite some time ago. So what gives? How is it possible to subscribe to both GLQ and The Journal of Lesbian Studies in the twenty-first century? How come I keep getting invited to represent lesbian studies at queer conferences and in queer volumes like this one?
