ABSTRACT

Theological anthropology is at the same time Christology, for in the incarnation the Son of God became human. If we, like a growing number of Evangelicals, adopt a materialist view of human beings, then many of the things that Christians affirm will need to be revisited to see what they look like from within this new outlook (one that, these evangelicals insist, is an old outlook, finding itself at home within a biblical worldview). In particular, we must look again at the old doctrine of the incarnation to see what it looks like through new eyes.
