ABSTRACT
During my time as a trial attorney in the Voting Section at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, I investigated several jurisdictions for compliance with Sections 203 and 4(f)(4) of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), and where necessary took action to enforce these requirements. My investigations focused on jurisdictions in the Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, Southwest and Alaska, encompassing all of Section 203’s language groups.
