ABSTRACT

With the review of the Fischler reform of common agricultural policy (CAP) – the so-called Health Check – an overall picture of the adjustment process is highlighted (European Commission, 2008 and 2007). The path that has been designed shows that the Health Check represents the predictable conclusion of a process started in 2003, although the rationale and the consequences of the approach proposed are something more than a simple ‘technical adjustment’ of the CAP (Cooper et al. 2007).
