ABSTRACT
Individualised and personalised medicine has gained an important role in the current research into oncological and haematological diseases. The definition of ‘individualised and personalised medicine’ is still controversial. The term as used in this article is based on biological findings leading to stratification of subgroups (for a detailed discussion on the definition of personalised medicine see Chapter 1, this volume).
