ABSTRACT

In sports venues today, we have more data and information available to us than ever before, relating to everything from utility usage, concessions inventory, effectiveness of marketing campaigns, parking lot ingress/egress, security incidents, and more. The challenge is figuring out how to manage it and how to use it. Analytics, and the corresponding platforms, provides a means for facility managers to use data to increase efficiencies and improve the overall guest experience. “Analytics acts as funnels to increase the granularity of the data – as the data becomes more granular, it may become more relevant to different roles within the facility management organization” (Building Automation, 2013). For example, facility management executives may be most interested in high level metrics related to ticket sales and revenues, while engineers may be more interested in the energy consumption of a specific system or sub-system (Building Automation, 2013).
