ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on Uttar Pradesh Sodic Land Reclamation Project (UPSLRP) launched by Uttar Pradesh Bhoomi Sudhar Nigam, which is involved in all-round development activities in the area, wherever they have emerged. The self-help group (SHG) movement in India constitutes one of the largest microfinance networks in the world. Current methods of evaluating SHG credit are ad hoc, consisting only of cursory reviews of ledgers and transaction statements. The repayment period is generally very short. Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) enabled mobile service framework for microfinance is a three-tier document-based architecture for providing remote rural information services for SHGs in microfinance. SHGs have certainly increased income and employment in rural area on one hand, and have kept a check over rural migration to cities on the other. The regulations relating to information technology (IT) solutions for banking services in general and financial inclusion in particular relate to ensuring integrity of banking system and ensuring customer protection.
