ABSTRACT

This chapter commences with a broad outline of the research methodology employed by the OMEGA Centre at University College London (UCL) for a fiveyear international research programme of decision-making in the planning, appraisal and delivery of mega transport projects (MTPs) funded by the Volvo Research and Education Foundations (VREF). It subsequently presents a set of general lessons derived from international case studies, and concludes by summarising the research programme’s main observations and findings.
