ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of farm management, a subfield within agricultural economics. The chapter addresses the theoretical underpinnings of farm management and provides a discussion of quantitative techniques frequently used in farm management research. The chapter also includes a brief history of the field, a discussion of the current outlets for farm management work, and a view toward future applications.
