Conclusions

Policy advocacy has remained an important activity within the field of social work. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on policy practice by highlighting the importance of developing and maintaining meaningful relationships between nonprofit human service administrators and policymakers. It also furthers the discussion of developing theory for guiding policy practice (Gen & Write, 2013). By building upon these findings, it may be possible to make policy advocacy a more accessible and efficient activity within the nonprofit sector.
