ABSTRACT

The conceptual basis of the study is the Policy Practice Engagement (PPE) framework (Gal & Weiss-Gal, 2015). This framework draws upon diverse theoretical sources in order to shed light on the factors that influence social workers’ involvement in policy practice in different policy arenas and national settings. More specifically, it seeks to explain why social workers engage in policy practice and how they tend to intervene in the policy process. The framework encompasses three interrelated but distinct components: Opportunity, Facilitation, and Motivation.
