ABSTRACT

The history of science offers a multidisciplinary vision that helps to understand the history and, more broadly, the culture of a civilization. In this sense, knowing Andalusi science not only makes sense on its own (as it completes the wide range of multiple knowledges that were developed in al-Andalus), but it is essential to understand the evolution of scientific practice and thought from Antiquity to the present day. The role of Andalusi science as a means of transmission between East and West, on the other hand, gives it a specific singularity that cannot be overlooked.
