ABSTRACT

The social and cultural positings in the construction of reality that are set with these AR technologies justify the requirement for a cultural analysis of the cultural and social implications of AR. It is set to use the insights gained for the development of cultural theoretical concepts, and thus also to question or contradict the power of interpretation of computer science in the positing of constructions of reality. In cultural analysis, AR can also be a means and a possibility for drawing on epistemologically in research and also for illustrating the mediation of research results, such as AR applications in the museum sector. The spectrum on which AR applications for exhibition guides are experimented with is relatively broad and includes, in the area of exhibition guides, both inner spaces as well as public spaces. AR development, which was initially strongly focused on visual elements, has long since been developing towards audio augmentation.
