ABSTRACT

Focusing on media and information literacy (MIL) policies throughout Europe, evaluation and funding clearly reveal their combined relevance. Both evaluation and funding are indispensable, since policy without evaluation can not be realistically implemented, and policy without funding is probably ineffective. The cross-national approach to evaluation of the policies supporting MIL throughout Europe was led by some empirical questions. The lack of transparent information about funding affects not only the economic analysis of MIL policies, but also evaluation as a whole. Funding social and educational policies has turned into a complex subject of study for researchers, confronted by a lack of information on the one hand, and with a significant diversity of data on the other hand.
