ABSTRACT
In the following valuable particulars, will be found many of the noble Secrets possessed by our Grand Master, Solomon King of Israel, and Hiram Abiff. Our sacred records inform us, that “God had endued this Hiram Abiff with wisdom, understanding, and mechanical cunning, to perform every thing that Solomon required; not only in building the Temple, with all its costly magnificence, but also in founding fashioning, and framing all the holy Utensils thereof; according to Geometry; and to find out every device that should be put to him! and the Scriptures assure us, that he fully maintained this character, in far larger works, than those of the other inspired Architects, Aholiab, and Bazaliel; 7 for which he will be honoured in the Lodges till the end of time”[.] Thus far our constitution books carry us; and here they leave us in the dark, with respect to what he did, and his great secret art in Architecture; and for which the ingenious part of the world, would, like Pythagoras, the famous Grecian scholar, sacrifice hecatombs upon hecatombs to possess. 8 […]
