ABSTRACT

Green governmentality is an extension of Michel Foucault’s concept of governmentality. Scholars in this field think about how power produces environmental discourses, experts to regulate these discourses, and individuals interested in remedying their role in generating environmental harm. If you are curious about how power works to make some solutions to environmental questions seem as though they are common sense, while others are rendered unthinkable, you will find some answers in this chapter.
