ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book draws together major themes and trends from each of the sections to provide an overall summary of narrative research with young children, early childhood and their families. The themes presented are the plethora of narrative methods and analysis; age of young children engaged in narrative research; narrative as a tool and working with indigenous populations. The book represents a number of different countries including Australia, Taiwan, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway and Chile showing the growing representation of narrative research in early childhood education. It also draws upon a number of different methods and analysis tools, showing the diversity and complexity of narrative research. The book provides examples of how narratives can be used in early childhood settings to help support child development and well-being.
