ABSTRACT

Restructuring an organisation can be traumatic, especially for employees selected for redundancy. This chapter describes one company’s initiative in facilitating the transition of long-time, dedicated employees who had served the company well. Veering away from an information-heavy program on transition, it shows how solution focused (SF) coaching facilitated valuable exchanges within a group of employees in the Philippines. This group managed to express both their sentiments as well as their best hopes, while discovering their own resources and ways to cope amidst the impending separation.
