ABSTRACT
Interest in women's prisons has been stirred by the television program ‘Prisoner’, and many people ask ‘are there any Veras or Megs, or Beas?’ From my experience ‘inside’, I can affirm there are: just as a macrocosm of the free world, the world ‘inside’ has its good and its bad, its violence and its leaders, its faults and its advantages. Unfortunately, these are not equally distributed and good intentions are often outweighed by bad consequences.
