ABSTRACT

London, the capital city of the United Kingdom, is also one of the cities at the forefront of climate change research and policy. The UK Climate Change Act 2008 entails legally binding targets for emissions reductions, and also a statutory responsibility for public agencies to adapt to climate change. This means that London has a wide range of climate policies, and, in addition, an emerging evidence-base regarding the risks of climate change, effective responses, and the level of implementation of such policies.
