ABSTRACT

Jeffrey S. Brooks is Professor of Educational Leadership in the Faculty of Education at Monash University. He is a J. William Fulbright Senior Scholar alumnus who has conducted studies in the USA and the Philippines. His research focuses broadly on educational leadership, and he examines the way leaders influence (and are influenced by) dynamics such as racism, globalisation, distributed leadership, social justice and school reform. Jeff is the author of The Dark Side of School Reform: Teaching in the Space between Reality and Utopia and Black School, White School: Racism and Educational (Mis)leadership, as well as the editor of an additional 11 volumes and the author or co-author over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Brooks is former editor of the Journal of School Leadership and series editor for the Educational Leadership for Social Justice book series. He has served in several leadership positions in the American Educational Research Association.
