ABSTRACT
The term hospitality refers to ‘friendly and liberal reception of guests and strangers. The Defensoria was created in 2006. Very early in its operation it joined the Network of Women Defenders of the Ibero-American Federation of Ombudsmen, with the aim of incorporating a gender perspective in its institutional management. The programme installed at the Defensoria led to an inclusive language in the tools of internal systemisation and in the data system to permeate the communication policy and the general vision of institutional management. The mainstream concept of sustainability that informs these documents and their implementation programmes does not allow for a fundamental shift in the dominant economic model which is at the heart of the current ecological crisis. The concept of sustainability refers to mankind’s ability to live within the boundaries of the physical environment, and indefinitely into the future.
