ABSTRACT

The final chapter of this text covers workplace issues in early childhood mental health in three distinct sections. The first section covers common practice settings and the role of the counselor within these systems of care. The second section outlines the foundations for reflective practice and the importance of utilizing reflective supervision for clinicians working in early childhood mental health. Other important supervision concepts are also addressed, such as when early childhood mental health providers should ethically seek additional supervision. The final section covers issues of burnout and how to apply principles of self-care to early childhood mental health work. Additional resources are included at the end of the chapter.
