ABSTRACT
Pakistan remained in a state of internal instability and external tensions in 2012 as well. Terrorism remained unabated. Militant organisations continued to attack civilians and state institutions. Radicalisation of society was manifest in various forms. Economic growth was slow. Power crisis was endemic. Provincial unrest was widespread. Relations with United States of America (US) were passing through their worst phase. The situation in Afghanistan continued to pose a serious challenge.
