ABSTRACT

In the transformational framework, the outcome is always some sort of innovation because it evolves out of thinking about potentials, not certainties. What is interesting about the transformational edge is that it is located far from certainty and far from agreement. Transformational edge is a metaphorical boundary for thinking. Over this boundary, in conditions of uncertainty, transformational thinking takes place. A key to thinking about complex adaptive systems is thinking about natural order coming out of chaos. The theory of complex adaptive systems contribute to one's thinking alongside the broader complexity theory that leads one to various endeavours in management activities. The concept, the drawing inside of some boundaries or ways of thinking is called a strange attractor. Once inside a strange attractor boundary all the very different organizational inputs will stay inside as though there was a magnet drawing them in.
