ABSTRACT
When psychology is taught in a conference setting, as was the case when this paper was first presented, authors are required to show that whatever they are propounding is relevant to the contemporary clinical treatment of patients. This is for a very practical reason: psychology conferences are normally offered for continuing education credit, and credit is given only if those attending will be made more effective doctors as a result of each presentation.
