ABSTRACT

The discussion here proceeds from familiar phenomena, such as consistency maintenance of an agent’s belief set, to focus upon minimizing biological wiring. From mind science to life science, from feasible software to biohardware, from logical to anatomical connections. This more realist, generalized limited-resource perspective shift reveals large-scale biological structure, namely, confirming fine optimization of available global biological connections in brain and in genome. “Save wire” turns out to yield correct predictions of brain and genome structure, sometimes down to one-in-a-billion precision. In this way, simple connection-minimization generates significant brain and genome anatomy.
